Thanks to the rain yesterday, we spent most of the day in Musee d'Orsay and then after lunch, Musee de l'Orangerie where we marveled over Monet's water lilies. The highlight at Musee d'Orsay was a Van Gogh special exhibit titled Van Gogh / Artaud - The Man Suicided by Society where numerous breathtaking paintings done in the period 1888-1890 were displayed. They are all so alive. The exhibit was even more special to me because I am currently reading a Van Gogh biography.

We were glad we went into the exhibit as soon as we entered the museum at opening time (and thanks to our Museum Pass got in fairly quickly) because after spending a couple of hours on the upper floors viewing other Impressionist works, the line to the exhibit was very long.

I took the last photo while we were standing in line to get into Angelina for a cup of chocolate chaud. We were not disappointed.
